Most Expensive Smartphones in 2015

As every year, the major manufacturers present their new models of high-end smartphones. Prices are high as always, but a new trend settle for a few months: that of "luxury" versions of the same model, justifying a higher price by a new design and the finest materials. But what does he hide behind this new strategy and these exorbitant prices? Think together the question.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

All trademarks are getting into.

Since the launch of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, all the brands seem to follow the trend of versions "more" for their latest high-end smartphones. This is the case of the S6 and S6 Edge , but also offering a LG G4 Leather Version salted rate. HTC and its One M9 Plus also follow this trend. All these products have in common to propose the very best, at a rate between 700 and 1000 euros for the most expensive smartphones. To a lesser extent, Huawei also apply this strategy with its P8 and P8 Max , the price rises to 650 euros.

Natural materials, the smartphone as a luxury object.

How do they justify brands such high prices? Through design and conception "premium" products that use noble manners and take on board the latest technologies. A bigger screen with better definition, a fingerprint reader, a more substantial battery, all arguments to suggest a more expensive smartphone version of the base model.

But it is in design and materials that brands are betting big on this segment. Having the thinnest smartphone screen frame with virtually no border has become an important marketing issue that can be put forward to the consumer.

The use of glass, leather or aluminum are also in luxury products that they exhibit self, as can be done with a nice watch. Brands know, licked a product design with high-quality materials can be sold very expensive, Apple has understood this by displaying a 1019 euros for the most expensive smartphone version of its iPhone 6 Plus.

The phablettes Change the Game

Another fact to consider is the strong growth of the market for phablettes smartphones or giants. Consumers appreciate more and more the product range initiated by the Galaxy Note. Thus, the "Plus" versions of different brands often have larger screens. This allows to touch two segments, that of smartphones around 5 inches, and that of 5.5 inches or more.

This is a perfect opportunity for brands to offer more variation with a datasheet a little more muscular and a few dollars more on the bill. On larger versions, brands add such a qHD resolution or a bigger battery, giving additional arguments to the product, and justifying the highest award (according to them).

Most Expensive Smartphones: The psychological factor

Brands know, consumers always want what is the best. If price is a determining factor in the purchase act, some do not hesitate to spend fortunes every year or every two years for the "ultimate" mobile. It now remains for brands to move forward sufficiently convincing arguments.

You Like the S6 but curved screen of S6 Edge take your eye? Left to take the high-end, why not take the one you really want? When you spend 650 euros, are you really 50 or almost 100 euros? If you take the best of the best, you will be quiet several years ... or until the next model in 8 months! You understood, high tariffs are not an obstacle for everyone, and the brands know how to be convincing.

To hide the lack of innovation and distinguish themselves?

Manufacturers must annually provide the best and stand out in one way or another competition. But you might know, the real innovations are rare in recent years. The autonomy issue has not been resolved, photo sensors are improving, but take great shots for a long time, and ever larger screen definitions are relevant to the limited time.

This is also the same goes for certain components. Mobile processors are often the same on the high end or have very similar performance and more than sufficient for all common uses. We also find the same image sensors on different models. All of which, for an experienced user, feel warmed or minor changes.

That leaves the design, development and use of different materials to stand out. The appearance of a phone is extremely important in the act of purchase, and the marks put the package on this point to distinguish themselves and to convince us that we must regularly change the smartphone, because our old model was further dropped. Now it's for you to tell us what do you think of this trend of high-end smartphones and their prices?

Test: Sony Xperia E3

In September last year we were able to take control of the Sony Xperia E3 when it was announced during the IFA 2014. This is a mid-range device running Android and being equipped with a 4G chip. Interesting that Xperia E3?
 Test: Sony Xperia E3

Design of the Sony Xperia E3

The Sony Xperia E3 has a fairly standard design, see little original. The cool stuff coming in my direction, matte plastic processing, pleasant to the touch. The edges of the device are quite thick and the smartphone is quite heavy for a screen of only 4.5 ", which reveals the range of the terminal. We tested the Xperia E3 in white, but you can also get it in black, see brown.

Level ergonomics, Xperia E3 is the dimensions of a device equipped with a screen 5" to 4.5". Specifically ergonomics of the terminal is very good, the smartphone is not very large and the buttons are well placed, but this screen size it would have been possible to do much better. The Xperia E3 shows a pack of empty areas, particularly low, which does not allow to optimize the design ratio / screen.

Sony Xperia E3 screen

The Xperia E3 is equipped with a screen 4.5" IPS definition 480x854, 218ppi. It's able to generate about  197lx max brightness on white, which is very interesting, especially for good visibility outdoors. The pixel density is not amazing, people used to more directly see it. The viewing angles are not very good either and we detected a slight yellow tint.

Autonomy of the Sony Xperia E3

The Xperia E3 completes our classic test of independence to 60%, which is quite excellent, with 20% engulfed in the 3D test. With the Xperia E3, you will easily have a day and a half of independence in "normal" use, 2 days in lighter use. The battery is not removable.

"Performance of the Sony Xperia E3"

The Sony Xperia E3 is equipped with a small Snapdragon 400 Quad Core 1.2GHz which, in the interface, provides a correct experience but who clearly recalls the product range. Of course, this does not prevent you from using the device without frustration. It is at the level of raw performance that grinds more teeth 18600 points on the AnTuTu benchmark, enough to run most current games but not necessarily in the best conditions for the greediest, eventually you might be embarrassed . Sony Xperia E3 does not heat especially even after 30 minutes of play in 3D.

Loudspeaker Sony Xperia E3

Contrary to what one might think, the Xperia E3 does not have a system of front speakers. At the front you have the audio output up and down, the microphone is integrated into the design to be symmetrical, which can deceive. The speaker is on the back, down the hull. It offers sound quality very correct for a fairly low volume.

Photo and video quality of the Sony Xperia E3

In a Day Pictured Sony Xperia E3 offers one made a little pale and lacking in detail. We were able to distinguish (not visible here, we must zoom) chromatic noise present in most images even in daylight which gives a saturated hue, by zones, it is quite unsightly.

At night the focus is complicated but besides that, strangely, the Xperia E3 is doing decently.

sony-xperia-e3-simple 02

In video, Sony Xperia E3 sound is OK but with a clearly audible breath when the environment is quiet. By day the colors are correct, with a white balance that does the job. The general report is nevertheless a bit pixelated, unaesthetic. At night the image is noisy and the development is very complicated.

4 versions for the iPhone between iPhone 6S and iPhone 7?

After the recent release of the Apple Watch, which is already a success, it now evokes the release of the next Apple smartphone. According to rumors, several models should appear even if we still do not know if we will see an iPhone 6S or iPhone 7 this year.

3 iPhone 6S and iPhone 6C pending the iPhone 7?

Apple has something to smile with the huge success encountered his watch connected even if critics are not necessarily good. What interests consumers and fans of the brand today, it is the appearance of the next iPhone and its features. The new Samsung Galaxy S6 is very good, fans hope Apple will respond and offer innovative models.

Logically, it is an iPhone 6S to be presented at the end of 2015, but rumors are many and we do not necessarily know what to think. The iPhone 7 however, should not be proposed before 2016 but Apple may offer a rather innovative intermediate model, and even more models.

According to latest information, the Cupertino company is reportedly developing a classic iPhone 6S and an iPhone 6S Plus. Two models that should logically be available before the end of the year. But that's not all,  Apple could offers iPhone 6C based on the same strategy as the iPhone 5C. Even if the model was not as successful as hoped, he still been sold well worldwide and colors have enticed many.

To finish, it evokes an iPhone 6 Mini to be proposed with a screen about 4 inches or slightly more in order to satisfy consumers who want an iPhone in a more practical dimension. This latest rumor, however, seems rather unlikely.

For now, we must trust only logic and wait a bit before analyzing the rumors. Leaks may be published on the approach of the release date iphone 7, ie in the autumn, and it is probably at this time that we can really know what to expect.
