Sony Xperia Z, ZL, ZR and Z Tablet: Android 4.4 KitKat arrive in May

Sony began deploying Android 4.4 KitKat on its devices in March. The update will arrive on Xperia Z, ZL, ZR and Z Tablet in May.

Sony began deploying Android 4.4 KitKat on its latest high-end devices: Compact Xperia Z, Z1 and Z Ultra. Follow somewhat older models - the new Xperia Z, ZL, ZR and Z Tablet - in the middle of the second quarter. More specifically, this new wave of updates is expected in May if we refer to the support page of the manufacturer.

More than a new version of Android

As for the first updated models, the new firmware should bring more than the latest version of Android. Sony has also included are a new user based on that of the Playstation 4 and the latest versions of its home interface applications. It also updates its multimedia suite (WALKMAN, Album and Movies) to integrate its services online storage and review its tool: Xperia Themes.
Hopefully no bug to be slipped into this update as was the case with the first firmware based on Android 4.4 KitKat supplied by Sony. Also recall that the Xperia T2 Ultra E1 and M2 are, too, on the official list of devices awaiting KitKat.
